Théoule-sur-Mer

45 minutes from Le Rouquier, beautiful Théoule-sur-Mer is tucked away in an inlet among the rocks of the Esterel Mountains. Since medieval times, Théoule has been a fishing village and it has retained its air of a small settlement, despite being only 10km from Cannes. There are a number of public and private sandy beaches, together with a marina and restaurants on the sea front. Théoule has stunning views across the bay towards Cannes and the Lérins islands, as well as a prime location at the entrance to the Estérel national park. Try Marco Polo for lunch on the beach.

Les Issambres

55 minutes from Le Rouquier, San Peire beach is the main beach of the small resort of Les Issambres. The gently sloping sweep of sand leads to a shallow, sheltered bay which is ideal for families, with views across the bay towards Saint-Tropez. Les Issambres and Sainte-Maxime can be quieter than better known Saint-Tropez in the summer. Les Issambres also has numerous small coves, some sandy, some rocky, perfect to explore. See if you can find the Roman fish farm along the way
